About Hooked on Hope
Here at Helios Medical Equipment, our goal is to provide better service and care for our local area and that is why we are thrilled for the opportunity to partner with Hooked on Hope. This wonderful local non-profit organization helps to raise funds for uninsured and under-insured breast cancer patients and their families all across the Tampa Bay Area Communities. Since 2009 this team of volunteers has helped to raise funds through various creative ways by “Making a world of difference right here in the Tampa Bay communities”, and has raised over $420,000!
How It Works
The money that is raised is disbursed to patients in our local communities that are currently undergoing treatment and are used for hospital co-payments, doctor visit co-payments, and living expenses. They partner with hospitals, physicians, and lymphedema programs to provide the necessary apparel to those who are in need of sleeves, gloves, and other garments. The amazing thing about Hooked on Hope is that they will fully cover the cost of the patient’s garment as well as any replacements that need to occur in the future since most manufacturers recommend a replacement after 6 months of wear.
Our Partnership
We will be joining their great cause through our partnership to help provide the proper products to those who need them the most in our community. This includes ready-to-wear garments as well as custom made ones because we understand that most patients are not able to comfortably wear the off the shelf products. To ensure a proper fit of your lymphedema garment we do offer measuring in the store so you know that your product will give you the best results possible. While we love to have our customers come by our store, we know that transportation can be an issue sometimes and we are happy to be able to offer shipping options to those who need their items delivered.
